Watch Dogs Pre-Order Options Risk Baffling Gamers

Ubisoft’s highly anticipated Watch Dogs launches on a wide range of platforms this Tuesday, and as well as breaking pre-order records it’s also boggling minds.

The open world hacking sim might be shaping up to be a contender for game of the year, but it’s insane array of pre-order options and bonuses is leaving gamers with something of a crapshoot. How complicated can it be you ask? Well, take a look for yourself:

So, that’s a choice of NINE different base games, all with different content. In case that’s not quite enough choice for you, we also have the now obligatory Season Pass add on that will graft additional features on to your edition of choice.

How interested you are in collecting all of these potential additions will depend largely on how much of a completest you are, with add-ons ranging from in game clothing accessories to hour long gameplay expansions.

Pre-order “Special Editions” have been a main stay at the launch of major titles for a long time now, and it’s clear that gamers appreciate a degree of choice. The question is how far this appreciation goes, and whether we are all willing to break out a spreadsheet to decide what we want.
