Mac OS X Application Removal – as easy as drag and release..

AppTrapAs part of my learning curve of my new MacBook Pro I found my self installing many applications in order to pin down ones which fulfil my needs. Now, as with all installations often some tiles are left behind.

This is obviously something I want to avoid, which is where AppTrap comes in, AppTrap has been developed by Kumaran Vijayan, Markus Amalthea Magnuson, and Alexander Henket.

With AppTrap, when you move an application to the trash, you’re automatically asked if you want to move the associated preference files as well. Now that’s uninstallation, the Mac way.”
What I like about AppTrap is that there are barely any overheads. The application sits in the System Preferences folder, upon running you get the option to switch on and off AppTrap. So, to remove an application you switch on the app, drag the application to the ‘Trash Can’, you are then prompted to remove any associated files. Once the removal is complete switch the application back off again! It really is that easy!!
You can find out more about AppTrap and download it at it’s homepage.
