Perfect freelancer/contractor companion

If you often find yourself flitting between projects/jobs for different clients but are finding it difficult to keep track of what time you are spending on each one, then you may want to check out the latest edition to my Mac Toolbox.

Activity Audit from DssW has recently hit the MacApp store & uses a novel way of logging time spent on tasks.  Each time you set Activity Audit running, you get the option to select it’s logging destination, this can be any calendar currently configured in your iCal which gives you the perfect tool for logging business and pleasure works in different calendars if required.

Once you have selected your calendar, you can then carry on using your applications as usual.  Each time you switch between applications Activity Audit will log the application’s title and time spent in your selected iCal!  Once you close the application down it will close off the calendar event and prepare for the next app to start/take focus.

One other cool feature is the ability to set up exclusions for applications/windows, etc, thus ensuring you’re off topic app usage will not get logged in your calendar!

You can download a free trial of Activity Audit from DssW’s website which is good for 14 days, once done it’s only £5.49/$8.99 to buy!
