Games of Glory Secures Funding, Cancels Kickstarter

Games of Glory

Feedback from fans and the community allows Lightbulb Crew to secure financing to complete crossover action MOBA Games of Glory. The recently launched Kickstarter campaign is being canceled, with alternatives offered for backers and fans to continue to participate in the project.

PARIS (AUGUST 7th, 2014) — Lightbulb Crew, an independent game studio currently developing its first title, has gotten commitments of additional financing in order to fund its upcoming, genre-busting Games of Glory. As a result, the company has decided to cancel the Kickstarter campaign launched two weeks ago. The game is currently in a playable Alpha state, and with the new financing, Lightbulb Crew will be able to complete a finished product.

“I am excited about the support from new and existing fans, which has been the key to securing the financing to make Games of Glory a great game,” said Anders Larsson, studio founder, Lightbulb Crew. “We are continuing to develop the game together with our community and would like to thank everyone who has made this possible by supporting us. We look forward to releasing Games of Glory with many advanced features.”

Kickstarter backers will be able to claim a free backer kit that includes early access to the game. Backers can also maintain a version of their original pledge through Games of Glory’s website until the originally scheduled end date of the Kickstarter, August 21 2014. All fans interested in Games of Glory are invited to join the forums and to vote for the game on Steam Greenlight.

In Games of Glory the players participate in intense arena battles that decide the future of the galactic empire, the Synarchy. Games of Glory presents a major difference in the way battle arenas have traditionally been played, by combining Hack & Slash controls, free aiming à la shooters, and an arsenal of more than 40 weapons to choose from. E-Sport is a part of the setting, and players have the ability to choose to enact different roles within the e-sport universe, such as star player, tournament planner, club head, trainer, recruiter, and more.

Lightbulb Crew is a newly launched, independent studio composed of talented and passionate game developers whose previous work includes games for renowned studios such as Ubisoft, DICE, Dontnod and Codemasters. Located in both France and Sweden, the team is developing Games of Glory with the ambition to directly involve the community to help build, refine, and improve the game.
