Apple Time Capsule Refreshed

After recent news about iOS 5 and the brand new iPhone 5 launch date creeping up on the horizon we knew it would only be a matter of time before the iconic flagship storage device got a refresh.

Apple have recently announced a whole new Time Capsule sporting a massive 3TB of server grade storage. With the previous 1TB and 2 TB models being reduced in price. There are many rumours around Time Capsule acting as a ‘hub’ for all your home based apple devices. The Time Capsule is apparently going to download all the relevant updates for your devices seamlessly in the background. Then upon connection of your device it will offer out the update. Weather this holds any truth or not is yet to be seen. However, it would make perfect sense!

From initial looks at the Spec, not much has changed apart from the drive space of course, and if mine is anything to go by you need one of these in your life!

Why choose a time capsule over cheaper NAS based storage I hear you say.. Well with the current ‘wild west’ type attacks going on around cloud facing sites and services, where better to store your data then a device which is essential hidden from the outside world unless you know where it is, and how to connect.

I have had my 2 TB Time Capsule for sometime now, and it act’s perfectly as a constant backup solution to my devices, along with a perfect home entertainment hub.

Yes.. All you Apple haters will argue the price is too high – but until you can show me a device that matches that spec, with the customer support reputation that Apple holds then you can keep your opinion to your self.

If you would like to invest in our friendship and buy me a 3TB Time Capsule, you can find them in the Apple store now
