Spotify has recently opened it’s doors to FREE uk membership, it’s normally by invitation only, but for a limited time you can sign up for free! “What is Spotify” i hear you shout.. Well here’s a quick paragraph or two from the website:
“What is Spotify?
Spotify is a new way to enjoy music. Simply download and install, before you know it you’ll be singing along to the genre, artist or song of your choice. With Spotify you are never far away from the song you want.
There are no restrictions in terms of what you can listen to or when. Forget about the hassle of waiting for files to download and fill up your hard drive before you get round to organising them. Spotify is instant, fun and simple.
Because music is social, Spotify allows you to share songs and playlists with friends, and even work together on collaborative playlists, Friday afternoon in the office might never be the same again! We’re music lovers like everyone else.
We want to connect millions of people with their favorite songs by creating a product that people love to use. We respect creativity and believe in fairly compensating artists for their work. We’ve cleared the rights to use the music you’ll listen to in Spotify.”

St. Petersburg, February 11th, 2009 — Spb Software, world’s top Windows Mobile applications maker is named winner in Sony Ericsson Content Awards. Spb Traveler, an application which helps to keep track of travel arrangements, meetings, time zones, exchange rates, and even clothing sizes at virtually any spot on the planet wins in the XperiaTM Panels category. Unique to Spb Traveler is the 3D globe which animates trips with sleek animation and offers a Geo Game for a fun way to test ones geographical knowledge and kill time on the go.
As part of the second annual Content Awards competition, Sony Ericsson received hundreds of entries. Nominees were evaluated according to such criteria as of ease of use, innovation, look and feel, and entertainment or usefulness value by a panel of industry experts and thought leaders. The XperiaTM Panels category winner – Spb Traveler – has a revolutionary animated finger-friendly UI, provides valuable tools and information to travelers such as world time and global weather service (powered by Foreca, the trusted provider of msn.com), subscription-free flight search, tip calculator, multilingual phrasebook, as well as currency, unit, and clothing size converters. “This Xperia Panel is an ideal travel tool, well-packaged with a clearly defined user experience and is also friendly to use,” said Vildan Hasanbegovi?, Product Manager at Sony Ericsson.

In 2008, Spb Software was chosen to develop a user interface panel for Xperia™ X1 and put forth a top-notch, Spb Mobile Shell-based solution that compliments the X1 in both style and speed. “We had a vision for the new Spb Traveler from the start, but certainly, the idea of creating a business application panel for Sony Ericsson was the inspiration,” – comments Denis Khitrov, the Product Manager of Spb Traveler. – “I have to admit that this inspiration recently drove us to create yet another panel for Sony Ericsson’s Xperia – Spb Weather.”

It has recently been unvailed by an Alaskan company! The gScreen G400 is one of the first dual screen laptops coming to a computer shop near you soon!?

Although these are not on sale as of yet, you can reserve your’s from the 25th, presumably from gScreen’s website. Although I won’t be rushing out to buy one, it’s been revealed on gScreen’s blog the US Navy have but a special order in for some custom built units!
Think I’ll stick to my Sony’s for now..
Microsoft are offering a free domain name and free webhosting for small businesses. If I recall correctly this is the second time this has been avalable, as I remember applying for it the first time round. Early user comments say that you are limited with what you can do with the free account (which is to be expected) but it’s still a great deal if your thinking of starting your own business.
If you want more information check out the video which can be found by following this link: http://officeliveoffers.com/demos/smallbusiness/intro/default.htm?nav=0&subnav=0
