Since early July 2009 the team over at OnePage, made up of Oo Nwoye and Joel Gascoigne have been working hard to bring you an interesting solution to an age old problem. That problem being the business card… The random bit of cardboard that gets shoved in your wallet, shirt or suit pocket or lost somewhere in you desk draws.
Recently The Next Web ran an article detailing 6 of the most common online business card sites on the net. Each of them sporting it’s own features. However, OnePage really caught my eye. OnePage’s simple design and layout makes it easy to read and very fast to load.
All of the sites offer the ability to link to other social networking sites such as facebook and twitter etc. However some of these systems can be quite clumsy and complex. OnePage’s solution to this is simple, as you can see for the screen shot to the left there’s an ‘Edit’ button placed above your chosen avatar. Once you have pressed it you get the option to add ‘contact points’, these are your other social networking sites.
Unlike most of the sites, OnePage uses a thumbnail view of each of the other sites, and selecting a thumbnail provides you with a simple web form to enter your credentials. You also have the option of labelling the social networking link, ensuring even the least tech savvy are able to understand and follow the links.
So come join the 21st century and chuck out your dog eared business cards, get your self a OnePage!
If you decide to give it a go, drop a comment below and let me know what you thought of it. You can find my OnePage here.
